Guest stars playing "marks"

[edit]

"The programme retained all of the lead actors from the first series; guest actors playing the "marks" in the second run included Lee Ingleby, Fay Ripley, and Robert Llewellyn."

Robert Llewellyn played a compere, not the mark in the episode in question. Same goes for David Walliams being mentioned elsewhere as a "mark" when in fact he was (1) uncredited and (2) a bit-part guest star as the manager of the dress shop in S1E4. I'll leave editing (and checking of other pertinent facts before rewriting these sections) to someone else as I only know of these two people and don't remember seeing either, hence I knew they didn't play the "mark" in any of the eps :-) 78.86.230.62 (talk) 20:24, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing out these errata; they are listed in the sources merely as "guest stars", "guest appearances from", etc. Can you suggest valid stars we could replace them with in the text? It flows better if they're lists of three... Happymelon 23:26, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No idea, and I notice also that Mel Smith, arguably as famous as the other guest stars, wasn't mentioned in the series 3 guest stars list...of course, it does say "included" so I can accept that as a choice rather than a mistake. BTW, the reworking of the original text works fine now IMO 78.86.230.62 (talk) 20:46, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name Of Show

[edit]

I'm pretty sure its call "The Real Hustle" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pinner458 (talkcontribs) 16:28, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's a separate programme called 'The Real Hustle' which is a documentary where ex con artists (IIRC) demonstrate various scams. PRL42 (talk) 17:04, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Series 7

[edit]

I'm a bit too lazy to cite whats already there, but here's a good article that can be used to cite that filming has begun on series 7 http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/s119/hustle/news/a248980/new-series-of-hustle-begins-filming.html 68.42.210.237 (talk) 02:52, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Age Difference?

[edit]

In series 5 episode 2, Emma is said to have gone onto the streets when she was 14 and Sean was 9. However, in series 6 episode 4, it is said that their dad abandonned them when Sean was 3 and Emma was 5. Does anyone know what the correct age difference between the two should be? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.11.179.187 (talk) 04:55, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't their dad leave them with their alcoholic mother? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.249.207.86 (talk) 20:04, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And also they spent time in childrens homes before running away onto the streets, mentioned in a few episodes can't remember specifics. (80.0.170.230 (talk) 22:34, 17 February 2012 (UTC))[reply]

I think the comment was about the difference between their ages. 14-9 is 5 years difference, 5-3 is 2. I don't know if the numbers given about are correct, but if so there is an inconsistancy. Not sure it needs to be discussed in the article though. 203.35.135.133 (talk) 08:27, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe they lied - they are con artists after all. That whole growing up on the street thing doesn't seem very likely tbh. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.183.89.126 (talk) 16:10, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If Emma spent much of her time in the children's home traveling close to the speed of light, then time would have passed more quickly for her than for Sean, and the difference between their ages would have grown. Admittedly, this scenario is unlikely, but given the opportunity to pad the age gap, she would have jumped at it, speculating that her increased age would give her confidence in caring for and protecting her little brother. Her access to this technology may be a clue that she's really an alien, or from the future. M-1 (talk) 21:01, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think you've nailed it. Unfortunately, however, it's still speculation and thus we can't put it in the article. Unless you can find a reliable source, of course. PRL42 (talk) 07:12, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Title music

[edit]

Did anyone notice that the title music is quite similar to Roy Budd's "Get Carter Theme" in the 1971 crime film Get Carter, which starred Michael Caine? Shouldn't this be mentioned somewhere? 85.186.119.94 (talk) 10:35, 9 February 2011 (UTC) Mike GH[reply]

A little difficult as such things are very much a matter of opinion and it would have to be carefully worded so as not to sound like an accusation of plagiarism. I know what you mean, though, in that it has a very definite 'style'. PRL42 (talk) 10:50, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think its just coincidence, I think they were generally aiming for the feel of 70's theme tunes like The Persuaders, Danger Man, Randall and Hopkirk etc, if you aim at a specific period you're going to end up with something like a piece from that period. - X201 (talk) 11:29, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eddie?

[edit]

Sorry but isnt this missing out eddie? He is one of the longest standing main charactors after all? 86.157.26.155 (talk) 18:18, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Woefully out of date

[edit]

Sections of this are talking about series 5 or 6 in the future tense. The whole article need to be drastically updated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.128.193 (talk) 07:28, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Black shows?

[edit]

Is one black actor enough to be in the category of "black television drama"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.100.115.189 (talk) 03:12, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AMC dropping series?

[edit]

So they aren't airing it at all anymore, right? I'm surprised, considering how focused they are on TV series rather than movies these days. --76.105.145.143 (talk) 11:06, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Leverage & Hustle

[edit]

These two series seem very similar, but I’ve never seen any discussion of this. 2601:243:1400:9BD0:61E3:797B:210D:F9DC (talk) 06:07, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
